Do you love nature?
THEN WELCOME!

Sebrina here
Your certified elopement guide, documentary elopement photographer, and all around go-to adventure gal in Nova Scotia! I freakin’ looooove elopements! There are so many amazing places to elope in Nova Scotia, and I am stoked to share some with you. Elopements are always so intimate and meaningful, and way more fun and less stressful than your traditional wedding day. There is so much more time for taking things at your own pace, relaxing, spending time with your partner and pretty much making the day exactly how you want. <3
Burntcoat Head offers a very unique experience where at low tide, you can walk on the sea floor among some amazing rock formations and cliffs. Located on the Bay of Fundy!

Pros: No hiking needed to get to the seafloor, often not very many people there at sunset, very unique spot for an elopement, epic photos
Cons: Need to check the tide schedule, and can be muddy so you gotta be okay with getting a little dirty!
One of the most beautiful peninsulas in the province, White Point Trail makes you feel like you are in Scotland! Rugged, cliffy, and vast.

Pros: Very secluded, 20 minute easy hike to the point, scottish-like landscape
Cons: In rural Cape Breton so you have to be good with the travel
Into waterfalls? Nova Scotia has plenty! Baxter’s Harbour is a gorgeous 50 foot waterfall located in the Valley (Halls Harbour, to be exact!)

Pros: Easily Accessible, stunning 50 ft waterfall, surrounded by rugged cliffs and the ocean, secluded so not many people depending on the time of day
Cons: It is 1.5 hours from the main city, so you have to organize accommodation in a nearby town
Do you want the most insane landscape as your backdrop for your big day? Cape Split is otherworldly and just jaw-dropping. You can hike to this stunning location as well, but it is a 12km hike in total (there and back). We think a boat tour where you can see the view is better for an elopement day!

Pros: Insane views, get married on a boat in the Bay of Fundy (highest tides in the world!), totally secluded with a private tour, very accessible
Cons: Bit of travel to get to the boat tour locations
Want to do something epic for your elopement on the east coast? Vision Air services offers stunning tours over Nova Scotia and private trips to the iconic Sambro Island.

Pros: Totally private island you will likely have completely to yourself, epic helicopter experience, picnic and champagne included for couples
Cons: A little on the pricey side but hey, it’s the day you get married! Celebrate in style!
Into history and eloping on an island? Nova Scotia for the win! McNabs Island is home to an old military fort and sits in the middle of the Halifax Harbour. You can get there by private ferry service!

Pros: Secluded, inexpensive to get there, historical, full of forest, ruins of military forts, canons, and an all around unique elopement spot
Cons: The boats do have to be back by sunset, so you can’t hang around after dark
Looking for a combination of private beach, gorgeous trails, beautiful cliffs and views? The Trailhead for Gaff Point is located at the end of Hirtles Beach on the south shore – and it does not disappoint.

Pros: Secluded Secret Beach couples often have to themselves, varied views and rugged ocean landscapes, relatively easy hike
Cons: Not accessible to those with mobility issues, and the secret beach is a little hard to find so having a guide is useful
Do you want that iconic east coast lighthouse experience? Peggy’s Cove is one of the most beautifully rugged views in Nova Scotia.

Pros: Surrounded by ocean, stunning views, quaint fishing village vibes, only 45 minutes from the city of Halifax, and easily accessible.
Cons: It is a hot tourist spot so there will be other people, potentially a lot depending on the season and time of day, also, it could be windy!
We say La Have, but the woodland is abundant here and all over! The forests in Nova Scotia are downright ethereal. We love the mossy ground, gorgeous tree canopies, and all around magic.

Pros: Forests are accessible within 20 mins of downtown Halifax, and all over the province.
Cons: Not all of them are easily walkable as there can be thick brush, so make sure you have a guide to let you know the best options
Want something a little more quaint with iconic Nova Scotia village vibes? Lunenburg is the perfect little town with it’s history of the renowned Tall Ship Bluenose II, colourful waterfront, and cute shops!

Pros: Very accessible, colourful buildings and scenery for the true east coast vibes, close to restaurants and good seafood, several cute accommodations nearby
Cons: It’s a tourist town so depending the time of year it will be bustling!
One of my personal favorite views and hikes, as it’s quick and dirty with insane visual reward! Close to Halifax, and walking less than 10 mins gets you this view.

Pros: Short Hike, secluded with a stunning view, less than 30 mins from downtown Halifax
Cons: Can be a little muddy if it has rained recently
.. AND THERE ARE SO MANY MORE. Nova Scotia is filled with so many beautiful hidden gems for tying the knot. It’s extremely introvert friendly, quiet, and perfect for those couples wanting a stress-free elopement experience.
And if your elopement is in secret styles, you bet we can be your witnesses!
