After much Googling, I noticed that a comprehensive guide of Nova Scotia outdoor wedding venues didn’t exist. It’s high time that such a guide does! I have also included free/low cost parks as they can be used for weddings, too!
Allow me to take you through some of the most popular AND lesser known outdoor wedding venues across the Mainland of Nova Scotia. I have broken them down by area as you’ll see below. They are separated into categories for Halifax Area, South Shore, Valley Area, and Northern NS.

Halifax Area (HRM) Outdoor Wedding Venues
The Patio at The Prince George Hotel
Located in downtown Halifax, the patio at The Prince George offers outdoor green space with an urban vibe.
Guest Count: Usually for 50 or less guests, but can accommodate up to 275

Point Pleasant Provincial Park
There are 7 different locations you can book for your wedding ceremony at Point Pleasant Park.

Boats depart from Fisherman’s Cove, Jubilee Dock, and Cable Wharf

Gorgeous naturally rugged and more wild trail systems and space.
Guest Count: 20 or less is ideal due to a more wild appearance and less open space

Sir Sandford is a Municipal Park and therefore has an associated low cost.

This park has dedicated green space for events and is very low cost!

Saraguay House (Royal NS Yacht Squardron)
Located in Halifax’s northwest arm, near The Dingle and right on the ocean.
Guest Count: Up to 115
Cost: Starts at $2000 CAD for venue rental only with a $500-$650 CAD ceremony fee. Catering etc is additional
To Note: There is a dock for boat access and indoor back up in case of rain
Beautiful seaside venue with on site sensea nordic spa.
Guest Count: Up to 125
Cost: Off season bookings start at $8500 CAD for venue rental and $8000 CAD for mandatory food/beverage (On season prices start at $10000 CAD for venue and $14000 CAD for food/beverage).

Lawrence Town Beach Cliffs Provincial Park
Next to Lawrence Town Beach up on the hill is a perfect open space for a small wedding with a stunning view.
Guest Count: No set limit
Cost: Free but must be reserved in advance
To Note: No receptions allowed at provincial parks (picnics are okay)
Mount Uniacke Estate House and Museum
Although there is no access to the museum, the grounds have beautiful green space. There is a view of a lake and forested trail system as well.
Guest Count: Up to 60
Cost: Starts at $300 CAD but depends on size of wedding and you must contact them for a quote.
To Note: Other couples can book this on the same day and ceremonies can be held anywhere on the property
Affordable barn type setting that is pet friendly.

To Note: This space is DYI, so you do your own decor and hire outside catering
Lovely farm vibes with animals, a horse-drawn carriage, and mechanical bull!

Located in Bridgewater and with plenty of open green space. The rustic barn vibes are strong with this one!

Located in Lunenburg. The reception space features an elegant white interior barn, and gardens are located on the property.

A secluded wilderness retreat perfect for couples wanting a private nature getaway.

Technically a private campground and nature park, but you can pay a small entry fee and have a stunning ocean view on the peninsula for your ceremony.

Valley Area Outdoor Wedding Venues
Beautiful vineyard with an amazing restaurant on the property. This venue is best suited for smaller weddings.
Guest Count: Up to 50
Cost: Packages starting at $18000 CAD
To Note: Above packages include accommodations for 14 guests, ceremony, cocktail hour, 4 course dinner, and late night snack.
Lightfoot and Wolfville Vineyard
This vineyard has a lovely rustic feel and can accommodate larger weddings. The outdoor ceremony space overlooks the lush vineyards and greenery.
Guest Count: Up to 130 (or 30 for their intimate wedding packages)
Cost: Packages range from $2250 – $12000 CAD and mandatory in-house catering is an additional $125/person
To Note: The intimate wedding ceremony location is in the Tidal Loft and is not an outdoor space.
Another gorgeously rustic vineyard. With 90 acres, this venue offers onsite cabins for accommodations. The ceremony space is under their outdoor pergola overlooking the vineyard.

Cost: Packages start at $4000 – $7500 CAD for venue rental alone

Annapolis Valley Historic Gardens
These stunning gardens are amazing for elopements and mid-sized weddings alike.
Guest Count: Up to 80
Cost: Prices vary and you must contact them directly for a custom quote.
To Note: Smaller scale receptions can also be held on the grounds in the cafe area.
There are 3 locations to choose from for your ceremony that overlook the apple orchard. The garden for small gatherings, sundeck or gazebo for more guests.
Guest Count: Small gatherings up to 625
Cost: Venue rental starts at $725 CAD +$400 ceremony fee. Food starts at $70/person.
To Note: Event coordination, set up, decor etc can also be added to packages.
Acadia University Irving Botanical Garden
Beautiful garden space in the wolfville centre at Acadia University. Perfect for intimate to mid-size outdoor weddings.
Guest Count: Up to 80 for the outdoor space, but receptions can host up to 500 guests.
Cost: Costs vary depending on wedding size and included services and you must contact them for a quote.
To Note: The gardens are open to the public until 10pm, though they do close if winds exceed 50km/h.
The Greenhouse at Strawberry lane
Very unique off-grid garden venue. The greenhouse itself can act as a reception space and there are plenty of lovely outdoor areas for the ceremony.
Guest Count: Up to 25 for intimate weddings/elopements or 50 for larger weddings.
Cost: Ceremony space rental starts at $500 CAD. You must contact them directly for a custom quote.
To Note: Space is closed from Jan-April.
Property consists of a 185 acre farm with ponds and forest views.
