The cost for a Justice of the Peace in Nova Scotia is a flat fee of $200 (not including any travel expenses). There are several hundred to choose from. Usually your photographer or planner can recommend you someone who will fit your vision.
Nova Scotia requires you to have 2 witnesses for the ceremony over the age of 16 years. They do not need to know you at all, and it can even be your photographers!
You will receive your official marriage certificate a few weeks after your date. Your justice of the peace will order this for you and have it sent to your home address.
