Rod and Dee, or Team RAD as we call ’em, had the sweetest little elopement at Birch and Anchor (Asado Wood Fired Grill) just off the Bedford Highway in lovely Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Birch and Anchor is the actual wedding venue, and Asado Wood Fired Grill is the catering company who created Birch and Achor. We knew them when they were just catering from some of our lovely past weddings – they served the most delicious BBQ food around! We couldn’t get enough of ’em, and were so stoked whenever we heard they were catering when we were photographing. Jump ahead like 4-5 years and now they have their own swanky restaurant/venue and it’s supah cool.
Like you’ll see below in Dee and Rod’s photos, they have these awesome domes so you can enjoy the ocean views when it’s cooler and have an experience unlike any other.
As for Team RAD, we met Rod and Dee in 2019 before Covid, and boy oh boy has it been a whirlwind with all the pandemic problems – but we are SO happy to say they were finally able to get married! And it was gorgeous. 🙂
Team RAD opted to have an intimate wedding with just their most special humans and fur babies (the cutest kitties and doggies you ever did see!). Oh, and Dee’s brother came all the way from California and her best friend even flew in from TO as a surprise! It’s such a treat for us to witness these kinds of beautiful moments between humans, and we are hella grateful to capture this kind of love.
First getting ready at their own home with their VIPs, Rod and Dee then headed to Birch and Anchor to tie the knot and have a wonderful celebratory dinner. But that’s not all! They are gonna have a wonderful party later this year once things are little more settled with Covid and more guests can attend. Yeehaw!
