Not going to lie, we were looking forward to this elopement as soon as we had our first video chat with Bonny and Joe. They are so creative, musical, easy going, kind, quirky, and just freakin’ awesome. We connected so well, and once we heard about their elopement plans we were just beyond pumped to help them create a super special day just for them.
Naturally Covid got in the way a little, and they ended up officially tying the knot on their original date in May with no guests or photographers, BUT we planned the most amazing and personal celebration for July and it was off the charts dope AF.
Bonny sewed a dress so we could get some photos of them together in normal human clothes, kind of like a mini engagement session before the getting ready in wedding clothes shebang. 🙂 They got bubble waffle ice cream at Portland Street Creperie, strolled around downtown Dartmouth for some rainy day portraits, and then rolled up to Joe’s Momma’s house for some getting ready action.
Dress and suit dawned on, they had a picnic basket full of goodies, a cake they made together, and slung over their shoulders a guitar and ukulele. Away we went to Lawrence town beach, cliffside for a self solemnization ceremony and a celebratory picnic and sing-along. It was just the cutest, and the view was breathtaking. With a gorgeous sunset in tow to end off the day, we took some stunning portraits with our mouths full of cake. <3 (my favourite mouthful!)
It was the most relaxed, special, intimate, and beautiful elopement ever. The moments were so genuine, and with time to take it all in. There was no stress, only love.
We are so grateful that we got to be part of this incredible day with these two wonderful humans. Beats a full blown traditional wedding any day!
Just look for yourself. 🙂
