So, you’re thinking about eloping in New Brunswick?
Excellent choice. 👏
Because while Nova Scotia tends to get a lot of the Atlantic Canada elopement love, New Brunswick is over here quietly being ridiculously beautiful.
We’re talking dramatic Bay of Fundy cliffs, giant tides, waterfalls, sandy beaches, mountain summits, tiny fishing communities, islands you have to take a ferry to reach, and forests that make you feel like you accidentally wandered into a fantasy movie.
And then there’s Hopewell Rocks.
You know. The giant tree-topped rocks sitting in the middle of the ocean like New Brunswick decided normal beaches were boring.
If you’re looking for a wedding day that feels more like an adventure than an event, New Brunswick has SO many options.
And the best part?
You don’t have to choose between somewhere famous and somewhere private. There are plenty of iconic places worth seeing, but there are also quieter corners where you can get away from the crowds and actually have a moment to yourselves.
So let’s get into some of the best places to elope in New Brunswick.
Okay. We have to start here.
Because if you’ve ever seen photos of New Brunswick, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen Hopewell Rocks.
Also affectionately known as the Flowerpot Rocks, these enormous sandstone formations have been carved by the Bay of Fundy tides over thousands of years. At low tide, you can walk right out onto the ocean floor and wander between them. At high tide, the same rocks are surrounded by water.
It is VERY cool.
And yes, it makes for an incredible elopement backdrop.

But here’s the thing I’d want you to know before immediately deciding this is the place:
Hopewell Rocks is famous.
Like, really famous.
So if your dream is to say your vows somewhere completely alone with absolutely nobody around, this probably isn’t the spot I’d build your entire wedding day around during the busiest part of summer.
BUT…We can absolutely get creative.
There are quieter trails and viewpoints around the area, including Demoiselles Beach, which offers a much more peaceful coastal experience away from the main flowerpot formations.
You could also build an entire Fundy Coast adventure around your time here instead of treating Hopewell Rocks as the only thing you do.
Think: Coffee → private ceremony → exploring the coastline → Hopewell Rocks → dinner → cozy cabin.
Now we’re talking.
And PLEASE check the tides before planning anything around the ocean floor. The Bay of Fundy does not care about your wedding timeline. 😂

If you want the wild New Brunswick experience, put Fundy National Park on your list. Absolutely one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick.
This is where you get the good stuff.
Rugged coastline. Forest trails. Waterfalls. River valleys. Ocean views. Giant tides. And a whole lot of room to wander.

There are so many ways to build an elopement day here that it doesn’t have to look anything like a traditional wedding.
You could hike to a viewpoint.
You could exchange vows beside the water.
You could spend the afternoon chasing waterfalls.
You could have a picnic somewhere ridiculously pretty.
Or you could make the whole thing a little more adventurous and turn your wedding day into one giant road trip through the Fundy Coast.
Fundy National Park has an extensive network of hiking trails, coastal viewpoints and waterfalls, making it especially good for couples who want their wedding day to actually involve doing something rather than standing around taking photos for six hours.
Which, honestly, is my kind of wedding day.
If you want the drama of the Bay of Fundy but you’re looking for something a little less obvious than Hopewell Rocks, Fundy Trail Provincial Park is one of my first places I’d look.
Fundy Trail Provincial Park
This park stretches along the Fundy coastline with a scenic drive, waterfalls, beaches, hiking trails and more than 20 lookouts.
There are BIG views here.
Like, stand on the edge of the continent and stare dramatically into the distance kind of views.

One of the spots I’d have my eye on is Walton Glen Gorge, which has a massive gorge and observation deck overlooking the landscape.
There are also beaches, waterfalls and plenty of opportunities to pull over and explore.
This is a GREAT option for couples who want a more adventurous wedding day without necessarily committing to a huge hike.
You can drive.
You can hike.
You can stop whenever something looks cool.
Basically, the entire park is saying:
“Wait… what’s around that corner?”
And I support that energy.
Okay, now we’re getting into my favourite category:
Places that require a little effort to get to.
Because sometimes the extra effort is exactly what keeps a place feeling special. And that’s why is one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick.
Grand Manan Island sits in the Bay of Fundy and is accessed by ferry. Once you’re there, you’ve got rugged cliffs, beaches, lighthouses, fishing communities, hiking trails, sea kayaking and some seriously beautiful coastal scenery.

And if you’re thinking:
“Wait, we’re taking a ferry to our elopement?”
YES. That sounds like an adventure.
Grand Manan has more than 70 km of coastline, and there are plenty of beaches and trails to explore.
You could hike along the cliffs, explore a lighthouse, wander a quiet beach, go sea kayaking, or simply spend the day driving around the island stopping whenever you see something beautiful.
And if you really want to lean into the secluded island thing, The Anchorage Provincial Park is worth looking at too. It’s right on Grand Manan and has coastal trails, ocean-floor exploring and access to some of the island’s wild scenery.
This is a particularly fun option for couples who want their elopement to feel like a whole little vacation that happens to include getting married.
If you like the idea of an island elopement but want something a little more accessible, take a look at Campobello Island.
This one has a really lovely combination of coastal scenery, forests, beaches and history.
And it’s quiet.
Like, let’s disappear for a few days and forget what day of the week it is quiet.

There are several beautiful beaches around the island, including Dunn Beach, Friar’s Bay, Raccoon Beach and Herring Cove Beach.
And Herring Cove Provincial Park is particularly interesting for an elopement because you’ve got a long sandy beach, hiking trails, cliffs and old-growth Acadian forest.
You can spend the morning exploring, have your ceremony somewhere quiet, and then head off for dinner or a cozy evening back at your accommodation.
It’s also a really fun option if you have a few favourite people joining you.
Everyone gets an adventure.
Nobody has to sit through a four-hour wedding reception.
Win-win.

Hey, I’m Sebrina
I help couples plan and photograph their amazing elopements in Atlantic Canada’s epic wild.
If your ideal wedding day involves dramatic coastline + tiny coastal village + seafood afterward, I need to introduce you to St. Martins.
St. Martins is one of those places where you can immediately feel that you’re on the East Coast.
Fishing boats.
Covered bridges.
Rocky shoreline.
And, of course, the famous sea caves.
At low tide, you can explore the caves and surrounding shoreline before the Bay of Fundy comes back in.

This would be SUCH a fun place for a relaxed elopement day.
Maybe you get married somewhere overlooking the water.
Then wander down to the sea caves.
Then grab lobster rolls.
Because obviously.

Here’s one for the couples who want big beach energy without necessarily needing the most famous beach in the province.
New River Beach Provincial Park – Definitely one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick IMO.
New River Beach has a beautiful sandy tidal beach, coastal trails, cliffs, wetlands and tide pools.
And this is where I’d start looking if your dream is:
Barefoot ceremony. Wind in your hair. No ballroom. No seating chart. Absolutely zero interest in chair covers.
There are also coastal trails leading toward more rugged scenery, including Barnaby Head.
It gives you the flexibility to have the easy beach moment and the adventurous hiking moment all in one place.
Althouuuuughhhh if a beach is REALLY what you want, Nova Scotia has the best beaches in Atlantic Canada – no joke!
Now let’s head to the Acadian Coast.
Kouchibouguac is completely different from the Fundy side of New Brunswick.
Instead of towering cliffs and dramatic rocky coastlines, you’ve got sandy beaches, dunes, salt marshes, lagoons, forests and wide-open coastal landscapes. And total quiet spot, making it one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick for those couples who want seclusion.

Kellys Beach is probably the obvious choice if you’re dreaming about a sandy beach, but I’d also look beyond the main attractions.
Kouchibouguac has more than 60 km of cycling trails and quieter areas that can make the day feel much more like an adventure than a typical beach wedding.
And if you’re the type of couple who wants to paddle, bike, hike, camp and explore during your wedding trip…
This is your jam.
Want mountains?
Yep. New Brunswick has those too.
Mount Carleton Provincial Park is home to the highest peak in the Maritimes, Mount Carleton, at 820 metres. The park also has huge stretches of Appalachian wilderness and is designated as a Dark Sky Preserve.

This is for the couples who see the word “hike” on an elopement itinerary and think:
“Excellent. How much elevation are we talking?”
You could hike to a mountain viewpoint, exchange vows surrounded by Appalachian wilderness, and then spend the evening under some seriously incredible stars.
It also gives you a completely different side of New Brunswick than the coastal destinations. Honestly probably my favorite of the best places to elope in New Brunswick. It’s all about these stunning views and that unforgettable adventure together!

Back to the coast!
Herring Cove Provincial Park is on Campobello Island and has a gorgeous 2-km beach, hiking trails, old-growth Acadian forest, bogs and cliffs.
This is one of those places I’d keep in my back pocket if seclusion is high on your priority list.
Because your wedding day doesn’t need to happen at the most famous viewpoint.
Sometimes the better location is the one where you can hear the ocean instead of twenty other people taking selfies.
Another Grand Manan option!
The Anchorage Provincial Park gives you beautiful coastal scenery, trails, beaches and opportunities to explore the ocean floor.

And if you’re into sea kayaking?
Even better. It’s definitely one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick for those with an adventurous streak. And for those who loves birds!
The park is connected to a major migratory bird sanctuary, and you can explore everything from accessible boardwalks to rugged coastal areas.
This could be a really fun choice for couples who want to combine their wedding with kayaking, hiking or a full island adventure.
Because your wedding photos should probably include at least one photo where you’re wearing wedding clothes and thinking:
“What are we doing?”
Followed immediately by:
“THIS IS AWESOME.”
Okay, this one is a little different.
Ministers Island is near Saint Andrews and is only accessible by road at low tide.
Yep.
Your wedding venue has a tidal schedule.
How cool is that?
The island has historic buildings, coastal scenery, grassy fields and old carriage roads to explore.

It’s a great option if you want something that feels a little more historic and romantic while still being surrounded by nature.
Just make sure you plan around the tide because once the road disappears…
Well.
You’re on the island now. 😂

If you’re really looking for somewhere that feels off the beaten path, head north. This is one of the best places to elope in New Brunswick for those couples who want them serious hidden gem vibes.
The Acadian Coast has sandy beaches, dunes, fishing villages and plenty of quieter corners to explore.
And then there’s Miscou Island.
This is the kind of place I’d consider if you don’t need your elopement location to be instantly recognizable.
You know the kind.
Someone sees the photos and asks:
“WHERE IS THAT?!”
Exactly.
New Brunswick’s Acadian Coast is also home to places like Bouctouche Dune, which offers a completely different coastal landscape with sandy terrain and boardwalks.
It’s especially good for couples who want a more relaxed, road-trip-style elopement.
And then there’s Saint Andrews.
If you’re looking for a combination of cute coastal town + beautiful scenery + good food + somewhere lovely to stay, this is a really fun base for a New Brunswick elopement.

You can explore the waterfront, wander around town, head out toward Ministers Island, explore nearby coastal areas, and turn the whole thing into a little getaway.
And if you have guests coming?
Saint Andrews gives everyone plenty to do without turning your elopement into a giant production.
Which is kind of the point.
Honestly?
It depends on what kind of wedding day you actually want. The best places to elope in New Brunswick completely depend on what you are looking for.
Because Hopewell Rocks and Mount Carleton are wildly different experiences. So are Grand Manan and Kouchibouguac. And that’s exactly why I love New Brunswick for elopements.
You can build your day around what you actually enjoy.
Look at Fundy Trail Provincial Park, Fundy National Park, Grand Manan or New River Beach.
Look at Kouchibouguac, Herring Cove, New River Beach or the Acadian Coast.
Mount Carleton.
Obviously. 😉
Hopewell Rocks.
I’d look toward Grand Manan, Campobello Island, the Acadian Coast or some of the less-trafficked areas around the Fundy region.
Grand Manan, Fundy Trail, Mount Carleton or Kouchibouguac all give you plenty of ways to make the day about more than just taking photos.
Honestly, plan a New Brunswick road trip.
Because the Fundy Coast alone can take you from Hopewell Rocks to Fundy National Park, Fundy Trail, St. Martins, New River Beach, Grand Manan and Campobello Island.
And THAT is a wedding day I can get behind.

Here’s the thing I really want you to remember:
You don’t have to pick one beautiful spot and stand there for an hour.
Your wedding day can move.
You can hike.
You can explore.
You can kayak.
You can eat lobster.
You can stop for coffee.
You can pull the car over because the view is too good to ignore.
You can get married somewhere quiet and then go see one of New Brunswick’s famous landmarks afterward.
You can bring your favourite people.
Or you can bring absolutely nobody.
You can spend the entire day outside.
You can make it slow.
You can make it weird.
You can make it adventurous.
You can make it yours.
And if you’re dreaming about a secluded, nature-filled wedding day in New Brunswick, that’s exactly the kind of thing I’d love to help you build.
Because finding a beautiful location is one thing.
Figuring out how to turn that location into an actual wedding day that feels like you?
That’s where things get fun.
New Brunswick is only one tiny piece of what Atlantic Canada has to offer.
If you’re considering an elopement somewhere along Canada’s East Coast, I can help you figure out where to go, what to do, how to build your timeline, and how to make the whole day feel like an adventure instead of a wedding production.
Your wedding day should feel like a really, really good day.
Just with better clothes.

I’m an Atlantic Canada elopement photographer and planner who helps couples create meaningful, adventure-filled elopement experiences throughout the east coasts wild, untamed landscapes. And yep, that includes New Brunswick of course!
