Checking out Sidanna retreat for your wedding venue? South Shore Nova Scotia is quaint, adorable, and quintessential east coast ocean and beach vibes. Sidanna Retreat was a new venue for us this year – and we love discovering new places we can recommend to our clients!

Sidanna Retreat actually has a whole lotta spots around Nova Scotia, each more beautiful than the last!

We were lucky enough to experience one in Hunts Point, NS. Rugged coastline, ocean waves, beautiful light, and just perfect for Nathan and Jessica’s intimate wedding.

With just 30 or so guests, they celebrated with those they love the most in such a chill and gorgeous way.

We left with the couple post ceremony and spent the afternoon on the beach. They had champagne, shared laughs, frolicked, and met some parrots! Yep. I said parrots. 3 of them actually! We ran into a gentleman who rescues birds and he was taking his African Grey, Macaw, and Cockatoo (accurately named Screecher lol) for a lovely stroll on the beach!

His African Grey was so well-behaved! She happily plopped on both their shoulders and heads and posed like a pro. She was an absolute delightful surprise! A very big thank you to the kind man who offered his parrots for photo-ing. He was truly a legend and something none of us will ever forget.

After playing with parrots, Nathan and Jessica busted out the Bubble Guns for an adorable duel – the perfect way to end our beachy portrait session.

Lastly we headed back to the retreat and enjoyed a very chilled outdoor meal in the golden light with all their loved ones. And the bubble guns were the real MVP! They added ambience as the sun set while Nathan and Jessica danced for the first time as husband and wife.
