Kasey and Andy came all the way from Portland, Oregon in the US to elope here, in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia! And how lucky are we that they chose us to photograph such a momentous occasion? The luckiest!
They chose to take a boat to McNabs Island in the middle of the Halifax Harbour. It’s such a beautiful and secluded place, and after the recent hurricane there was a lot washed ashore to explore! Including several little starfish, beautiful shells, and sea snails!
Kasey walked down to the dock sporting a beautiful moss-green and floral dress with a bad-ass black leather jacket and shoes. Andy wasn’t far behind, in a dope blazer and casual jeans. Amazingly, they complimented the red/black boat perfectly!
Dave from the McNabs Island Shuttle was our guide and Sea Captain for the day – a stellar guy with lots of knowledge, and super duper friendly. Would 11/10 recommend him for any of your boating needs!
After about a 30 minute sail, We docked on the West side of the island at Garrison’s pier, with a view of the lighthouse in the distance and full beach to meander across. Kasey and Andy chose to do their ceremony on some gorgeous creased rock formations along the beach, and we were lucky enough to get a day without much wind so we could throw up the drone!
After exploring, celebrating with champagne, and general tomfoolery as Andy wandered off to look for god knows what, we hopped back on the boat and got to sail up the lighthouse, and across the way to see the old batteries from York Redoubt.
We finished the day off at the Mercantile Social with some portraits and more celebratory champagne – we left Andy and Kasey to have their romantic dinner on their own, though. 😉
Look at these magnificent humans. <3
