Excited to share this fun downtown Halifax wedding at the Lower Deck! Shannon and Aaron are super fun and silly. Shannon does theatre so she’s super animated and Aaron really matches her energy. They met online, and had an awesome first date when she was supposed to be meeting up with friends but she was having such a great time he ended up meeting her friends that same night. They were together for nearly a decade before getting married – and she was the one who proposed to him!

They came all the way to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Saskatoon to get married. They had a small and very fun downtown Halifax wedding with their closest friends and fam. With The Lower Deck Tap Room as their venue, we had all the dark pub vibes but with a beautiful touch of sparkle for that wedding day ambiance. They got ready separately and had an adorable first look at The Lord Nelson Hotel. Then, we headed over to The Public Gardens for their portrait session. This happened to be on the same day as Prom and they legit photobombed a bunch of teenagers in the park—it was hilarious.

After all that, we headed to Pickford and Black for celebratory pre-ceremony pints with their closest humans. There ceremony itself was just beautiful, with Shannon’s Uncle doing acapella from an old musical theatre number to top things off. We love when couples throw in authentic pieces of themselves into their day – and it all felt very right. <3

After all the ceremony hullabaloo we did the fancy pants portraits with the wedding party, and they celebrated into the night in their own way, spending time with their favourite people. It was utterly genuine and an absolute pleasure to capture.
