Probably the first time we’ve had the pleasure of photographing a person on their actual birthday… Aside from birthday parties of course!
It was Joshua’s birthday (unbeknown to us until almost the end of the shoot). But hey-ho! We planned a little jaunt to Crystal Crescent for something a little beachy, but also kinda naturey with all the greenery and rocks. And of course, it was sunset. We got realllll lucky with the light, clouds (pssst photographers LOVE clouds), and temp. Annnd we hit the couple jackpot FYI, cause they were super fun and so down to clown! Desirae even came up with some fun ideas of her own. 🙂 Not to mention after me repeatedly asking them to go back into the freezing cold ocean, neither of them killed me, hehe.
Kevin and I don’t actually get out to do couples sessions on beaches very often. Which is so weird considering we live in Nova Scotia and we’re all about the coast down here. A lot of our sessions are more urban and city-based, and we’ve really been wanting to get something ocean-y for a while. I looooove the beach, and the ocean has one of those alien face grips on my chubby heart… so when Josh and Desirae said they were beach people (okay maybe just Desirae) we totes jumped on that idea train. Choo choooo!
It’s so nice to get out of Halifax and take in the salty air with down to earth people. ALSO Desirae collects tea cuppppps and when she said that, I’m pretty sure my eyes were the size of saucers. She has a fancy cabinet thang I’m itching to see, and taunted me with a rustic garden style wedding. Um, yes please! 🙂
ANYWAY, without any further adieu, have a looksy at what we all cooked up! We always say it’s a team effort between us and our couples, and the photos really showcase how well we vibed! <3
